RACE 6-3 MIRAGE

$3.60 in from $5.50

Master trainer Darren Weir’s “MIRAGE” has been the best backed horse right around Australia this morning.

The lightly raced 6 year old gelding has only had 15 career runs, as he’s always been plagued by little niggles. Don’t be surprised to see Weir get him cherry ripe again though as he has a great knack of doing that with seemingly “finished” horses.

The Hard Spun gelding raced his career with Peter Moody before that trainers enforced retirement, but he seems to have re-found he zest with “Weiry” down at the Warrnambool beach.

In 3 starts since being transferred he’s run very well on all occasions and what adds even more merit to the runs is that the trio of them have all been at listed level.

Dropping back in grade to open company and having to carry just 3 kg over the minimum he’s very well in at the conditions of this race and it’s easy to see why punters have warmed to him! He’s also suited well by the soft going and the threat of more rain to come.

His average price at the time the markets went up was $5.50 but he’s now all the way into $3.60 which Unibet are offering. All the other corporates are keeping him much safer at around the #$3 to $3.20 quote.
