Smart filly Ghisoni prepared for the Brisbane carnival with a quiet barrier trial hitout at Warwick Farm on Monday.

Trained for Godolphin by John O’Shea, Ghisoni Horseform was never asked for an effort in finishing just behind the placegetters in the open three-year-old trial over 800 metres.

Eased back in the small field early, Ghisoni never had the brakes released in the straight but worked home well under a tight hold to finish fourth, less than a length off the winner Cheeky Babe.

Ghisoni is likely to run next in the Group 3 2016 Glenlogan Park Stakes, a race for fillies and mares over 1350 metres at Doomben on May 28.

Ghisoni also holds a nomination for the Group 1 2016 Doomben 10,000 on the same day, for which she is a joint second favourite in TAB all-in betting at $8.

She shares the fourth line of TAB betting at $11 for the 2016 Stradbroke Handicap on June 11.

Ghisoni last raced when a luckless fifth to Japonisme  in the 2016 Arrowfield Stud Stakes at Randwick when badly blocked for a run in the straight.

She was a first up winner of the Group 2 2016 Surround Stakes earlier in the Sydney carnival.
