RACE 3-1 RADCLIFFE @ $2.20
Firstly before we even begin to assess this horses form, it’s a rich $125,000 2yo open handicap, so we know by that very fact alone it’ll be a very hotly costed affair with the huge 2yo riches on offer during Sydney’s Autumn well gone.
On debut at Kembla Grange Radcliffe settled back and never got fully tested finishing 10th of 14. So it was impossible to assess that run. Forgive!
Second start in a 1200m Warwick Farm maiden he was well supported $8 into $6 to win the race. He was 7th on the turn, got to the outside and ran on well to win a tight “bobbing-go” photo verdict. Aesthetically it looked a big win!
The horse that Radcliffe just beat thought was SEZANNE, a horse who has earned the enigma tag after only three runs. The filly has finished 2nd, 2nd and 4th in her three runs and has been the subject of huge betting plunges on each occasion. Her 4th on Wednesday in a Canterbury maiden after being backed from $2.70 to $1.55, was pathetic! She has very limited ability but after just getting nosed out into second at her first two race starts she sucked punters in. Us punters, myself included thought she was a talented horse, but Wednesday’s run proved she’s very average……
So where am I going with this?? RADCLIFFE beat her home in the narrowest of photos in that Warwick Farm maiden. So what looked like a good win in actual fact, knowing what we do now was only an average win. Radcliffe beat up on a bunch of walkers.
Because it looked so impressive she’s $2.20 here in this but I just can’t cop that price. I’d want $5!
It’s a high quality field with some regally bred horses from major stables making their debuts. This could easily be seen as a lead up to the 2yo Brisbane Winter stakes races so one or more might be taking that route?!?!
The races brigade are also pretty good quality. There’s many who have been running well and winning or placing and are likely to still be improving.
All considered $2.20 Badcliffe is a ridiculous price and I wouldn’t touch it with stolen money!
