The half brother to champion mare WINX made his race track debut at Gosford this afternoon and was every bit as impressive winner as his super star older sister was when she debuted back in 2014, paving the way for a career that has already seen her reach dizzying heights with the promise of even better to come.

The Gai Waterhouse trained 2yo colt by Snitzel is named ‘EL DIVINO‘, and while you might not have heard the name yet I can promise that you’ll hear it plenty in the future. It’s often a hopeless task being related to champion like Winx, almost regardless of what you achieve you’ll be left in the shadows by the siblings brilliant list of achievements.

EL DIVINO though could not have been more impressive scoring on debut, as he really put his opposition to the sword. There may not have been much quality behind him (time will tell that) but even if there wasn’t he destroyed them like a high quality horse does when racing against also rans. He has enormous stallion potential being a half brother to such a great mare, and if he could win a Gr1 of his own he’d be worth $20+ million conservatively. There’s plenty of Black Caviar / All Too Hard about this story. All Too Hard was a half brother to Black Caviar and was able to win multiple Gr1’s and that saw him sold to stud for some $30 million.

If he’s half as good as the big sis, which he very well may be judging by his debut effort, strap in we’re in for an exciting ride!
