Caulfield Cup winner Fawkner’s half sister FIFE has made a very promising racetrack debut at Ballarat, running on very well to grab 3rd.

The blue-blooded filly owned by Qatar Bloodstock, jumped  fairly but then was completely out sped in the first furlong ending up a clear last when they settled into stride.

Approaching the turn she started to make up several lengths along the fence, and cornered like she was a winning chance.

But just when she looked like she was going to challenge the front duo, she started the run about and lost a length or 2. However she finally balanced up late in the piece and was clearly the strongest horse on the line.

Whether or not she rises to the meteoric heights of her brother Fawkner, only time will tell, but one things for sure about Fife, once the penny drops she’ll be a very good horse because she possess an abundance of natural ability.
