Craig Williams will not retain the ride on Brazen Beau in the Darley July Cup at Newmarket, with the rider informed via text message his services will not be required.
At Royal Ascot the Chris Waller-trained sprinter raced for previous owners On Track Racing, having been leased back by Godolphin.
Williams raced alone on the stands’ side on the 7-2 joint-favourite, and having briefly led, was overhauled by winner Undrafted who came out of the pack on the far side.
His ride was defended by the syndicate having attracted some criticism, but he will not get the chance to ride the sprinter on his second British assignment.
Speaking in Australia, Williams said: “I got a text message saying that Sheikh Mohammed is going to use one of his retained jockeys in the July Cup.
“I was very grateful for the association that I had with the horse throughout his career when I was given the opportunity to ride him.
“He had the hopes of a nation on his shoulders (in the Diamond Jubilee) and the coverage and support was unbelievable and I felt disappointed that we couldn’t pull it off but he was so gallant and did a fantastic job.”
